About the Consolidated B-24D Liberator:

The Consolidated B-24D Liberator was a pivotal variant of the B-24 Liberator heavy bomber, marking the first mass-produced model of this iconic World War II aircraft. Designed by Consolidated Aircraft Corporation in response to U.S. Army Air Forces requirements for a long-range bomber superior to the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, the B-24D emphasized speed, range, and payload capacity. It entered U.S. service in early 1942 and was designated Liberator III in British service under Lend-Lease.

A Record-Breaking Warbird:

Over 2,600 B-24D units were produced, contributing to the B-24's total of more than 18,000 aircraft built during the war—making it the most-produced U.S. aircraft of WWII. The B-24 served in every theater of the war, from the Pacific to Europe, North Africa to the China-Burma-India theater. Its distinctive high-mounted Davis wing gave it superior range and speed compared to the B-17, while its tricycle landing gear made it easier to handle on the ground.

Perfect for: Serious WWII aviation collectors, history enthusiasts, experienced COBI builders ages 11+, and anyone who appreciates the engineering marvel that helped win the war

With its impressive 27-inch wingspan, this B-24D Liberator will be the centerpiece of any WWII aviation collection!
